The Ministry of home affairs has recently banned one of the most popular games Garena Free Fire along with 53 other Chinese apps in India. The reason behind banning these apps is that they posed a threat to national security as well as the privacy of the users. The government also claimed that these apps transfer users’ data to foreign countries like China.
Garena Free Fire is now unavailable in the Google Play Store and App Store but it is still available on Samsung Galaxy Store in India. This is not clear how long is this game available to download on Samsung Galaxy Store. However, it seems that it will soon be removed from the Galaxy store too. Those who have Samsung Galaxy can go to the Galaxy Store and download the Free Fire from there. The players who have already installed the game can play it without using VPN.
If free fire sets up its data severely outside of china then it is expected to relaunch in India just like BGMI (formerly PUBG Mobile) did. However, it looks like the game will soon make a comeback to the country as the PUBG mobile did. Free Fire was also banned on 1 June 2019 but had a comeback to the country. However, there is no official notification from the company about the sudden ban of Free Fire. We are looking forward to hearing from the company soon.
